Making Progress

I haven't been very good at journaling on this blog spot...just not something that I'm used to I guess.
I've spent some time reading articles about the use of a wiki page in education, and I do believe that a wiki could be very effective as tool for enhancing the educational experience - especially for young people who seem to prefer to spend time online rather than taking a traditional approach to studying.
My purpose for the wiki that I created was to provide a forum for my colleagues to share their thoughts and ideas for building a policy and procedure manual. I've been working very diligently on a web page for storage and access to the policies, and have been making a lot of progress. I must admit that I've been reluctant to invite my co-workers to visit the wiki - but I'm going to take the plunge and send an email later today. I'm a bit skeptical as to whether it will truly be useful since I work in a very conservative environment, but you never know!

sharing wiki

I told you that I would share the wiki project that I worked on in another class, here is the link - http://aded5710unitsix.pbwiki.com/

I was very pleased with the way this project turned out, and for some reason, I enjoy working with a wiki more than a blog! I'll provide you with the link to my new wiki asap -

On another note I have been working on a web page project at work, and I may try to integrate that into an extra project for this class.

Getting started

I am working on a group project in another class and we are using a wiki as a communication tool. I would like to be able to transfer the work into this class to be something usable at work, so I think that I will create a wiki for HR questions at work. Of course I'll be sure that no sensitive issues are publicized, but for general questions this could work well. Maybe I will change the content - but we'll see as it goes.
